Robert J. “Bob” Denton passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln. He was born on October 26, 1944, at Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1963. He served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1970 and was then a member of the Nebraska National Guard for 21 years. He married Myra Roebke on May 14, 1966, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice. They lived in Lincoln for a time and then returned to Beatrice. He was the lead person in the engineering department at Store Kraft for 29 years. He is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. He enjoyed fishing, car racing, traveling, and attending his grandsons and other extended family members activities.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Myra of Beatrice; one son, John (Julie) Denton of Owasso, OK; two grandsons, Logan Kent Denton and Peyton John Denton of Owasso, OK; one brother Ron (Fran) Denton of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Marjorie Itzen of Beatrice, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Trientje Ackerman Denton; parents-in-law, Martin H. and Syliva K. Roebke; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Shirley) Roebke, Martin J.E. Roebke Jr., and Roger Itzen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Pastor Daryn Bahn officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice with military honors conducted by Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard and Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion of Beatrice. The body will lie in state on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting relatives and friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
