Joseph Charles Kuykendall III, 74, of Fletcher, NC passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Born July 10, 1950 in Haywood County, NC, he was a son of the late Joseph Charles Kuykendall II and Blanche Louise Rogers Kuykendall. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. After the Army he went to work for Wilson Art in Fletcher, NC where he worked as a supervisor and was employed for 21 years. In 2001, he founded Joe’s Lawn Mowing Service where he was owner and operator for 22 years. He enjoyed antique cars and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Asheville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Ashe. Surviving are his spouse of 52 years, Edith M Kuykendall; children, David Moore of Morganton, NC and Beverly Kuykendall of Etowah, NC; siblings, Steve Kuykendall of Fairview, NC, and Michael Kuykendall of Canton, NC; grandchildren, Casey Kuykendall, Cody Kuykendall and his spouse, Megan; and Tyler Rumbough; and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 754 Aiken Road, Asheville, NC.
