Shirley Marion Tuttle, 67, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on October 14, 2024, at Abbott Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; her brother, Carl; her mother, Irene; and her father, Austin. Shirley is survived by her siblings, Stanley, Sandy, Susie, and John; her children, Heather, Angela, and Jay; her stepchildren, Becky, Jackie, and Maggie; her grandchildren, Gianna, Teagan, and Olivia, along with many cherished step-grandchildren.

Born on December 12, 1956, in Escanaba, Michigan, Shirley grew up in Perkins, Michigan. A spirited and active student, she attended Perkins High School, where she was a cheerleader, basketball player, and proudly played the French horn in the school band. After high school, Shirley married her first husband, Tom, with whom she had her two eldest children, Jay and Angela. Later, she found love again with her second husband, John, and together they welcomed their daughter, Heather.

Shirley had a deep love for life and found joy in many activities. She enjoyed bowling, camping, silent discos, and spending time with her beloved huskies: Gustopher, Sophia, Hudson Hawk, and Black Jack. The beach was one of her favorite places, and she especially cherished family gatherings, particularly during the holidays.

Shirley showed those around her what unconditional love truly is. Despite facing the challenges of an undiagnosed mental illness, she tried to remain kind, compassionate, and generous throughout most of her life. In her final years, she endured immense mental suffering, but her faith in Jesus Christ never wavered. Shirley is now at peace, free from pain, and undoubtedly reunited with loved ones in heaven. Her warmth, love for her family, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Kozlak-Radulovich Northeast Chapel (1918 University Ave). Burial will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
