Beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Son in law, & Friend It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Dwayne William Whitford.

Dwayne, affectionately known as “Shoe Guy” or “Shy Guy.” Born to Ralph and Lorna Whitford on September 11, 1986, when Dwayne was born the nurses just loved his big eyes then the nurse said ‘you hit the jackpot with this one”, when he was only 5 he learned how to drive standard so that he can make sure dad came home safe from Langruth. He loved to help dad outside with mechanic work, especially when it came time to test drive or move a vehicle. Dwayne had a love for vehicles. Whether driving, fixing, or modifying cars, he was happiest when working with his hands. This passion was shared with his father, Ralph, creating a bond that carried through his teen years and throughout his lifetime. In 2004, Dwayne met Tammy, the love of his life. Together, they welcomed their first child, Veronique, in 2005, followed by their son Veron in 2008, and their youngest, Veronikah, in 2010. Dwayne’s eldest son, Delany, also joined their home, making their family complete. In 2016, after 12 years together, Dwayne and Tammy married, solidifying their beautiful life together. As a family, they found joy in traveling, visiting fairs, hotels, and picnicking in the mountains. Dwayne was a man of gratitude, always helping others. His hard work, loyalty, and deep devotion to his wife and children were evident in everything he did. He made sure his kids felt loved and safe, providing a foundation of warmth and security. Dwayne was also known for his love of loud music, especially when it had lots of bass, and for his love of Ford trucks—his passion for life was truly vibrant. In 2018, Dwayne began working at the community complex, where he built lasting friendships with his coworkers, sharing laughter and jokes along the way. Dwayne was loved by many for his joyful spirit, kindness, and dedication to those around him. Dwayne was a man who lived for his loved ones, who gave his all to make them feel cherished. Dwayne’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on the hearts of all who knew him.

Predeceased by Father Ralph Whitford. Siblings: Sabrina & Clayton. Nephew: Devon Levasseur. Maternal Grandparents: Veronique Levasseur & Fredrick Levasseur. Paternal: Jonas Whitford & Victoria Whitford.

Survived by: His loving wife Tammy; Best Daddy to Delany, Veronique, Veron and his baby girl Veronikah. His mother Lorna; siblings: Amanda (Edward), Lorna Jr. (Buchanan), Tanya, Shawn, Cory, Riley, Jeremy.

Numerous cousins, nephews & nieces.

 

All of Dwayne’s work friends & family are considered Honorary Pallbearers.

 

Wake service will be held at his residence in Sandy Bay First Nation at 199-14 Main Road.
