Jeff Van Winkle, 63, of Beatrice passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the CHI Health St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on August 4, 1961, in Beatrice to Richard “Wink” and Doris “Dot” (Jurgens) Van Winkle. He grew up in Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1980. At the age of 10, he started working for his father at Van Winkle Construction and in 1996 he started Van Winkle Masonry. Jeff was very proud that he received his Eagle Scout badge from the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, spending time at the family cabin and farm, but most of all spending time with his kids.
He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Van Winkle of Lincoln; son, Jared Van Winkle and special friend Macie McLaughlin of Beatrice; step-daughter, Hillary Faulder of Beatrice; sisters, Jann (Richard) Jensen of Washington, KS and Beth Van Winkle (Robert Messing) of Beatrice; niece, Jeri (Michael) Chandler of Washington, KS; great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Doris (Jurgens) Van Winkle; brother, Brett Van Winkle; nephew, Jackson Logan; and great-nephew, Peyton Chandler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Centenary United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Paixao Baptista officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
