Patricia Diane Proulx (Alexander) Obituary

October 22, 1962 – October 14, 2024

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mom, wife, grandma, sister and friend.

Patti will be lovingly remembered by her partner Jeff, her children Charlene (Chad), Marcy (Derek), Lindsay (Jesse) and Jordan (Morgan). Grandchildren Tanner, Kallee, Aubrie, Cooper, Shyann, Maisie, Regan, Torri, Harper, Kinley, Heidi, Orrin, and Katie, as well as brothers Russell and Brian, and numerous other extended family and friends that she cherished deeply.

Patti spent her childhood living throughout the central interior of BC where her and her family competed on the pony chariot racing circuit. This was where she met Ludie Proulx, who would become the father of her four children and husband of 34 years.

At the young age of 18, Patti moved to Barriere. This is where she became a wife and a mother and raised her 4 children on the family farm on Boulder Mountain. She loved cheering them on from the sidelines at their various sports and was her kids’ biggest fan. Patti’s home at the farm was always welcoming and had an open door for anyone that came along. She was an active, valued member of the Barriere Search and Rescue for years and was an avid tracker. As the kids grew and found their place it was time for her to fulfill her own sense of adventure.

Alberta called, and Patti took to the oil and gas industry as a first aid attendant and eventually a health and safety officer. This is where she met her partner Jeff. They spent her remaining years together, most recently settling in Clearwater. They enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors and adventuring with their dogs. Patti continued her work as a health and safety officer. She enjoyed helping others and had a real passion for her work.

Patti loved a fine cup of coffee (occasionally with Baileys), a good song and a great recipe. She enjoyed long road trips with her kids and grandkids. Patti often reminisced about her and her mother’s many adventures where they would find themselves in all sorts of situations. She never turned down a chance for travel and longed to do more.

She was a fierce Mama Bear and loved her family and friends deeply.

A service will be held October 27,2024 at 2pm at the Fall Fair Hall in Barriere. Open to all who wish to join the family in remembering her.
