Wendell Leon Moore Obituary

Wendell “Leon” Moore of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma was welcomed home with open arms to his Heavenly Father on October 19th, 2024. He was 83 years old. 


Leon was born in Oklahoma City, Ok on July 13th, 1941 to Jack and Dorthy Moore. He was the youngest of three children. In 1959 he graduated from Choctaw High School. Leon attended Okmulgee Tech and graduated in 1962.Leon became an Electrical Contractor and owed and operated Moore Electric Company with his son for over 60 years. He developed and owned and operated Garden Acres Mobile Home Park in 1975 with his wife Helen Jean Moore. He was married to Helen Jean Price in 1962 and had five children. In 2007 Leon married Karin Shema. They lived in Paden, Ok where he built his retirement cabin and shop until his death. Leon was a Nicoma Park City Councilman for 12 years and served as an Oklahoma County Reserve Sherriffs Deputy for many years.


Leon had many hobby’s including spending time with his family and friends. He loved hunting and fishing with his oldest son and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and driving his classic cars. He was a hard worker his entire life and loved to build and tinker with all types of projects around his property and shops. All though he may have had a tough exterior those who really knew him well are very aware of just how tender hearted he could be, especially when it came to his family and close friends. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather.


Left to cherish his memory are his wife Karin Moore of Nicoma Park, Ok. His brother Winston Moore of North Carolina, Son Tye Lee Moore & wife Elisha of Oklahoma City, Ok, Daughter Wendy Craighead & Husband Gary of Mustang, Ok, Daughter Diedra Yeats and husband Nathan of Oklahoma City, Ok, Son Jay Moore of Oklahoma City, Ok, Son Brock Moore & wife Catlin of Tulsa, Ok. Step Son Mike Ballew,Of Midwest City, Ok,Grandchildren Jordan Turner , Cody Moore, Heath Debner, Brittney Perieda, Kendra Cebulesky, Zack Davis, Desirae Simmions, Kailey Moore, Bailey Moore, Cam Moore, Great Grandchildren Kingston Moore, Princeton Moore, Sailor Rose Moore, Lincoln Turner, Cale Moore, Braxtyn Turner, Liam Debner, Harper Perieda, Wilder Whetsel, Oliva Whetsel, Carson Ballew, Aubrie Ballew and many nephews and nieces and friends.
