It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Beck. John was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. John was predeceased by his brothers Arnold and Charlie and survived by daughter Andrea; sons Bruce (Corinne) and Grant; granddaughters, a great granddaughter; as well as many nieces and nephews.
John had a long career with the government starting with Natural Resources and moving on to Manitoba Hydro for over 35 years until his retirement at age 62.
John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed mountain climbing, hunting, sailing, running, canoeing, kayaking and bird watching. He particularly enjoyed his beloved cottage at Lake of the Woods where he enjoyed fishing, many sunsets and stargazing. In later years, John went on many adventures with his sons, including canoe trips in North Western Ontario, hiking the Milford Track in New Zealand, kayaking in Belize, and many kayaking trips around Powell River, B.C.
He will be deeply missed.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 24, 2024, by E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
