Gloria A. Burk, 77, of Beatrice passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society of Beatrice. She was born April 4, 1947, at Upland, PA. Her family moved to Linwood, PA where she graduated from Chichester High School in 1965. She attended Philadelphia College of the Bible for two years before joining the Navy where she was stationed at Great Lakes, IL from 1969 to 1972. She worked at the US Post Office in Lincoln as a mail sorter among various other jobs and moved to Beatrice in 1989. She had a food program called “Food from the Heart, Food for the Soul” which she ran from 1999 to 2016. She was a member of Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion, VFW Auxiliary and DAV all of Beatrice. She was a beloved daughter and care-giver to all.

Survivors include a nephew, Zachary (Laura) Burk of Litchfield, NH, a great-nephew, Joshua Burk and a great-niece, Layla Burk; sister-in-law, Patricia Burk of Hollis, NH. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lillian Reichert Burk and brother, Dennis Burk.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Evergreen Home Cemetery with Pastor Sam Jackson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Naval Honor Guard and Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion of Beatrice. Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing.
