Prentice Max Short, Sr., age 85 of Scottsburg, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born February 2, 1939, in Clay County, Tennessee to Delbert Ermos and Ogle Francis (Gist) Short. Prentice was a member of the Scottsburg Church of God. He owned S&S Drainage over 30 years and retired from Cummins in 1995. Prentice is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Geraldine, and his sister, Judy Unger. Surviving to cherish his memories are his children, Prentice Max (Patty) Short, Jr. of Clarksville, Kelley (Warren) Lagle of Scottsburg and James Short of Paducah, Kentucky, his grandchildren, Emily (Steven) Scott, Ben (Nikki) Short, Timothy Short, Nathaniel (Samantha) Short, Corey Lagle and Isaiah Short as well as seven great-grandchildren. A private family graveside service will be held at Zoah Christian Church Cemetery in Scottsburg. Memorials may be given in Prentice's memory to the Scottsburg Church of God or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Collins Funeral Home of Scottsburg.
