Delma Jean Postell, 77, of Andrews passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 in a Greensboro, North Carolina hospital. She was a native of Nantahala Community and lived most of her adult life in Andrews. Delma was a loving homemaker and spent the majority of her life raising kids and grandkids. She loved art, crafting, and painting. Her passion was being at church and praising the Lord through her music and song. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, where she sang and worshipped. She loved spending time with her family.
She was the daughter of the late Oscar Woodrow and Blanch Ruth Mason Passmore.
Surviving are two daughters, Terri Lynn Latoz and husband, André of Greensboro, and Ronne Amanda Postell of Murphy, North Carolina; two sisters, Sue Bush and husband, Skip of Mills River, North Carolina, and Donna P. Reid of Canton, Georgia; six brothers, Tommy D. Passmore and wife, Patricia of Wesser Creek, North Carolina, Jackie D. Passmore and wife, Pat of Nantahala, North Carolina, James Passmore and wife, Tracey, of Nantahala, Jerry Passmore and wife, Sheri of Canton, Georgia, Earl Passmore and wife, Willa Mae of Nantahala, and Donnie Passmore of Nantahala; five grandchildren, Aaron, Luke, and Holly Barton, Storm and Alex Latoz; two great-grandchildren, Adam Latoz and Charlotte Barton; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Rev. Chuck Davis officiating. The interment was in Union Hill Cemetery in Nantahala. The family served as pallbearers.
The family received friends from 10-11:45 Tuesday morning at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, prior to the services.
