Ronald Fay Parker was born September 13, 1945 in Wray, CO to Major Steven and Geraldine Parker. He lived in Wray until 1951when the family moved to Ivanpha, California. It is believed to be his most loved place as a child. He started his schooling in Searchlite, CA.
When Ron was 10, the family moved to Spanish Fork, Utah. By then, the family grew to include one brother, Jack (1951), and three sisters; Connie (1952), Sheryl (1954), and Elizabeth (1955).
Ron’s father was killed in an industrial accident in October 1957 and the family moved a time or two before settling back in Wray.
Ron finished his schooling at Wray High School at 10th grade. He spent time in the Navy until his discharge, and then he came back to Wray.
Ron’s first marriage produced 3 children – DeAnna, Ronald Jr., and Jess. Through his second marriage, Jason was born. Ron later met Mayela, the one he would finish his life with. Ron gained a son, Oscar, daughter-in-law Katy, daughter, Sayra, and close friend, Bristol. Mayela brought much joy to Ron’s life.
Ron was an avid trucker and loved every minute of life on the road. He often had a story to share of various places he has visited. Ron had a passion for being outdoors – especially fishing! He would often carry a fishing pole in his truck, just in case there was time in the day to stop and fish. Ron loved the water and would often find time to take Mayela out on the boat. Ron also loved riding his Harley Davidson whenever he could. Ron and Mayela took many motorcycle trips throughout the years.
Ron spent much of his retirement enjoying time with his two grandkids – Kayden (6) and Kinsley (8). Ron and Kayden were buddies – Kayden always helped Grandpa on whatever needed fixed or repaired (even if they had to fix it two or three times). Ron loved playing ball with Kayden and talking about all the cool hot wheels cars Kayden brought to show him.
Ron was sometimes a little rough around the edges, but Kinsley had a way of softening him up. Ron learned to play barbies and they would often have fashion shows, judging whose doll had better fashion. (Kinsley usually won that game). Kinsley loved sitting with Grandpa (even if it was watching his westerns on replay). Ron loved watching Kinsley play volleyball, as she always had a new move to show him. Ron loved his grandkids so much.
Proceeding Ron in death are his parents, Major Steven Parker (father), Geraldine Parker Howard (mother), Donald Lee Howard Sr. (step-father), Baby Parker (infant son of Major and Jerry), step brothers Donald Lee Howard Jr., and Clifford Howard.
Ron is survived by his wife Mayela Parker, son Oscar (Katy) Frausto, daughter Sayra Frausto, grandkids Kayden and Kinsley Frausto, friend Bristol Daffern, brother Jack (Karla) Parker, sisters Connie (Bryan) Francone, Sheryl Parker, Elizabeth (Stanley) Thompson, step sister Linda (Gary) Wingard, step brothers Bob (Cheryl) Howard, and Tony Howard.
