Providence Louise Della Monica (nee Guggino) passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, at the age of 88. Born and raised in Yonkers NY, Provie married Anthony Della Monica in 1956. Together they built a life in Saddle Brook, NJ, where they raised their two sons, Guy and Eddy. In 1986, Provie and Tony relocated to San Jose, CA, where they continued to make beautiful memories with family and new friends.
Provie was a devoted wife of over 47 years to her late husband Tony. She was a loving mother to her sons, Guy and his late wife Debby, and Eddy and his wife Julie; a treasured grandma to her granddaughters, Nikki and Dominic Prunella, Alexa and Tommy Hassel, and Alana DellaMonica; as well as a cherished great-grandma to Francesca and Serafina Prunella. Provie was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Florence Guggino, and her brother, Nick Guggino.
Provie was a proud member of UNICO National, where she found joy in connecting with her Italian heritage and serving the community alongside Tony. She was passionate about preserving memories, creating beautiful scrapbooks for their UNICO chapters in both Saddle Brook and San Jose. Never without a camera, Provie loved capturing the special moments that meant so much to her and others.
Known for her great cooking and creativity, Provie also had a passion for crocheting and needlepoint, creating intricate works of art that she shared with those she loved. She was an avid collector of elephant figurines, each piece adding a touch of joy to her home. Provie cherished her time with those closest to her, displaying countless photos of her loved ones, always excited to reminisce or tell a story.
Provie will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her memory will live on in photos, crochet pieces, elephant collectibles, and in the joy and laughter of those who loved her.
