Thomas Edward Derr Obituary

Our beloved father, Thomas E. Derr, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by the ones he loved on October 14, 2024, at the age of 79.

He fought a tough battle with Alzheimer's and mixed dementia as well as lymphoma. He is now at peace.

He is survived by his Sister: Marylou Lowther and her husband William (Bill). Children: Brian Derr and his wife Giselle, Robin Noone and her husband Al along with grandchildren Aidan Noone and Schuyler Hanson and his long time partner and dedicated caregiver Toni Pegram and their Boxer Dixie. He was very fortunate for the past 2 years to have another amazing caregiver: Alysha Williams Galloway, who has become part of the family. Thank you.

Tom was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1944. He attended the Pingry School, University of Akron, and Thiel College.

As a child, his family spent the summers in Lake Mohawk which his sister Marylou remembers fondly. When raising his children Robin and Brian, (with his first wife Nancy Issenman) they spent wonderful summers camping in Augusta Maine.

He resided in New Jersey until retirement in the early 1990's from law enforcement as an Investigator for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office then moved to North Carolina.

He will be dearly missed, but we are all thankful that he is now Resting in Peace.
