Lauren Nicole Bauer, a beloved daughter, sister, and mother, passed away unexpectedly in Scotland Neck, N.C. on October 14, 2024. She was 37 years old.

Born on February 19, 1987 in Suffolk, VA, Lauren was an outgoing woman with a good sense of humor who’s smile could light up a room. She had a passionate love for books, sunflowers, and motorcycles.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, William Paul Burch and Peggy Joyce Burch; and paternal grandfather, William Henry “Monk” Jernigan.

She is survived by her mother, Catherine Paulette “Paula” Dowless; her father, Michael Eugene “Mike” Bradley; her grandmother, Carolyn Rebecca Jernigan; and her precious son, Carter Lee Thompson.

Lauren will be deeply missed by her brothers, Matthew Garrett Willis and Aaryn Paul Dowless; her stepfather, Jeffrey Michael Willis; and good friend and former husband, Robert Henry Bauer. Lauren will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. prior to the service.
