Lee Etta Randall

Lee Etta Randall was the second of nine children born to the late Alma Lee Sanders Patterson and Reverend Allen Patterson on November 2, 1915 in Natchitches Parish, Louisiana. On Thursday, December 10, 2015, Lee Etta went home to be with the Lord. At an early age she received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior; and joined Green Grove Baptist Church in Chestnut, Louisiana where her father was the officiating Pastor. Growing up she spent time between Chestnut (where she called home) and Shreveport, Louisiana (with her Aunt Jennie) where she attended Central Colored High School graduating in 1932. On February 24, 1936 in Saline, Louisiana, Lee Etta married her loving husband Johnie Randall. With the Lord always in the forefront of her life, in 1943, Lee Etta became a member of Providence Baptist Church located at 365 Third Street where Reverend F.B Banks was the Pastor. She later joined Third Baptist Church where Reverend F.D Haynes was the Pastor. In 2001, she reunited with Providence Baptist Church of San Francisco, now located at 1601 McKinnon Avenue, under the leadership of Pastor Calvin Jones Jr. Raising five children, Lee Etta made being a stay-at-home Mom her full time job, while her husband worked for The Southern Pacific Railroad. She traveled to Louisiana to visit family and friends; cruising in the Bahamas and she enjoyed many trips back and forth to Reno, Nevada; where on many occasions coming home with more money than she left with. From her travels, to her love of God and family, Lee Etta Randall lived a full life. On November 1, 2015 her children honored her by giving her a 100th birthday party that will forever hold dear to their hearts. Lee Etta received many well wishes for her milestone birthday including a "Centennial" congratulatory letter from the White House signed by President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama, and a congratulatory letter from The Southern Pacific Railroad. Preceding Lee Etta in death is her husband Johnie Randall, daughter Barbara Lee Randall Pyle, siblings: Ruth M. Williams, Lee Allan Patterson, Pinkie Gilmore, Alzada Lacy James, Willie Mae Harris and Irene Guy James; and son-In Laws: Wallace Bailey and Thomas A. Johnson. She has left behind many memories to be cherished by her beloved children: Johnnie Maxine Johnson of San Bruno, Carol Ann Bailey of San Francisco, PettiJohn Randall (Marilyn) of Daly City, and Paul Randall (Jennifer) of San Leandro; two sisters: Isabel Junious and Murlene Mangle, both of Oakland, and Cousin Dr. James L. Hutchinson of Hillsborough; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, a special son In Law Donald Pyle, and her Providence Baptist Church Family.
