Helga J. Grove, 84, of Clarence, peacefully passed away at Mount Nittany Medical Center on Friday, October 18, 2024. Born on May 5, 1940, in Augsburg, Germany, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Maria (Myer) Rommel. Helga was united in marriage to Wayne Grove on December 19, 1956, in Augsburg, a partnership that lasted until his passing on December 9, 2003.

Helga completed her education in Germany before embarking on a new chapter in the United States, where she became a proud U.S. citizen and settled in the Penns Valley area. She devoted her life to raising her family and cherished the many moments they shared. In recent years, she enjoyed living with her daughter Nancy in Clarence.

A talented cook, Helga worked in local restaurants until her retirement, always bringing joy to those around her with her culinary skills. She particularly loved the holidays, when she would prepare large meals for her family, creating lasting memories around the dinner table.

Helga had a passion for shopping, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and, most of all, reading—often found engrossed in her Kindle. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she relished every moment spent with them.

Helga is survived by her four daughters: Sandy Condo and her husband, Jim, of Milesburg; Angela Stover of Colorado; Linda Spangler and her husband, Robert, of Centre Hall; and Nancy McCloskey and her husband, Larry, of Clarence. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helga was preceded in death by her son, George Grove, and one brother Fritz Myer.

In accordance with Helga’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
