Chesapeake – Virginia Ann Ennis, 68, of Portsmouth Va. passed away suddenly at home on October 14, 2024. She was born on March 27, 1956, in Butzbach, Germany to the late Merdon and Trudy Walker. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Linda Stevens.
She was a graduate of Wilson High School and later married and raised her wonderful daughter Shannon. She worked many years for Southern Atlantic Label Company in Chesapeake, VA. and Nylacarb Corporation in Vero Beach, FL. She was highly respected by her coworkers and supervisors for her great work ethic. She exemplified sound morals and values. She had so much joy and excitement all contained in such a tiny package. She and her loving husband had spent the last twenty-five years living in Sebastian FL. She quickly fell in love with the tropical lifestyle. She was in heaven sunbathing on her white sandy beach and then later looking for that special shell while staying cool in the shallow blue water. Her unconditional love for felines led to a beautiful thirty-four-year love affair adopting and raising a total of nine furry bundles. She and her husband moved back home to be close to their family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband and companion of 34 years, Joseph Ames Ennis; her daughter, Shannon Anderson and husband Don; her granddaughter, Kaylynn Anderson; feline brothers, Cooper and Andy Ennis; and many extended family and friends. She will be truly missed.
A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd Chapel is assisting the family in arrangements.
