Mildred Allene Walling Arnold, 78 of Walling, Tennessee passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born Monday, September 7, 1946, in Citra, Florida, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur Walling and the late Ammie Lee Andrews Walling. She was the youngest of three children. On Thursday, January 4, 1973, she married Gregory Myles Arnold in West Palm Beach, Florida.

7 grandchildren,

Haily, Jake, Brad, Sidney, Hayden, Sarah, and Atticus

2 in-laws,

father and brother to Jack Tessar, John Tessar and Jeff Tessar, respectively

3 great-granddogs,

Finn, Rhea, and Penny

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Myles Arnold, of 30 years before he passed unexpectedly in November 2002. Mildred was also preceded in death by her siblings, Beckham Walling and Janice Rosella Walling, and much of her extended family.

Mildred is remembered for her love of scratch tickets and sweet treats like ice cream and muffins. Whenever she could, Mildred would surround herself with her church family and her grandchildren. She took joy in living simply. She was stubborn and wildly determined, but she made sure you knew you were loved and taken care of.

A memorial service for Mildred will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Gum Springs Baptist Church, located at 5454 Franks Ferry Rd, Walling, TN 38587, with Pastor Bo Hendrix officiating.
