Mildred Olive Garnett Obituary

Beals- Mildred Olive (Hatt) Garnett, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior October 14, 2024, surrounded by her children.

She was born August 5, 1949 on Beals Island to the late Eric “Bud” and Florence (Alley) Hatt . She spent the majority of her life shucking clams at Andy's Seafood in Jonesport and making wreaths every winter for her family. She loved it and could make the most beautiful wreaths around. She was a devoted Christian woman who absolutely loved her church family. She was a faithful member of the Jonesport Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 23 years, Donald “Donnie” Garnett, Sr.; four brothers, Eric Jr., Noyes, Herbert, and James Hatt; three sisters, Guyula Thompson, Christine Kozlowski, and Helen Reynolds; a very special brother-in-law, Bruce Garnett, who loved “yardsaling” with Mildred.

Mildred is survived by her children: daughter, LeeAnn Hazelton and partner, Brian Tenan; son, Donald E. Garnett and wife, Rebecca; and daughter, Roberta Garnett Alley and husband, BJ, all of Jonesport; grandchildren—who were the lights of her life—Eric and Gavin Garnett and Tristan and Hunter Alley. She is also survived by her baby sister, Nancy Crowley and husband, Vinal of Beals; brothers-in-law, Frank Kozlowski of Jonesport, and David Garnett and wife, Cathy of Old Town; many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and knew her as “Aunt Moo Moo.” She was a very special lady to so many people. She will also be remembered by many cousins and friends who thought the world of her; as well as her special friend, Arden Alley and her very special praying partner, Allen Merchant, who nicknamed her “Tilly.” Mildred will also be dearly missed by her furbaby, Charlie.

Visiting hours will be 4PM to 6PM Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Mildred’s church, Pentecostals of Jonesport, where a Funeral Service will be held at 1PM Friday, October 25, 2024 with Rev. Matthew Beal and Pastor Bertrand officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, where online condolences may be shared: www.bragdonkelley.com
