David A. Thompson, 52, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Private family services will be held. Inurnment will be at Wilson Grove Cemetery, rural Sumner. Public visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2024, at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Sumner.
David Allan, son of Allan and Jane (Foster) Thompson was born August 2, 1972, in Waverly. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner. David received his education in the Sumner School System, later earning his G.E.D. He worked for many years at Bay Valley in New Hampton, prior to several years with Aveka Manufacturing in Fredericksburg. David enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, trips to the casino and was a Harley Davidson enthusiast.
David is survived by his mother; Jane (Merv) Hildebrandt of Sumner; sister, Brenda (Bill) Schrage of Sumner; nieces and nephew, Megan (Tyler) Haisch of Byron, Minnesota, Dylan (Bethany) Schrage of Vinton, and Shannon (Kyle) Chipera of Denver; great-nieces and great-nephews, Rowan and Easton Haisch, Nolan, Beckett, and Brooks Schrage, and Brant and Kayce Chipera; aunts, Jeanie Bartie, Caryl Leyh, and Sandra Thompson; and many cousins, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Allan Thompson; maternal grandparents, Percy and Ruth Foster; paternal grandparents, Tilmer and Ethel Thompson; and uncles, Jim Foster and Charlie Bartie.
