Jeffrey Marcus Kole, age 51, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on October 14, 2024, from a sudden heart attack. Born on January 15, 1973, in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of Dick and Terrie Kole. The family has since resided in the Great Neck area of Virginia Beach for over 40 years.
He attended Norfolk Academy for lower school and graduated from Cox High School in 1991. Jeff studied Geography at East Carolina University and graduated in 1995. After college, Jeff obtained his teaching license from Virginia Wesleyan University and began teaching Geography at First Colonial High School. He found joy in coaching the JV basketball team at First Colonial High School.
After several years of teaching, Jeff pursued his dream of owning a business. He started J & J Enterprises, a flooring company in Virginia Beach, and completed numerous remodeling projects for homeowners throughout Hampton Roads. Jeff had a passion for surfing and was fortunate to surf in many locations including the Pipeline in Hawaii. He was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Dick and Terrie Kole, his sister and her husband, Amy and Bayne Keenan, and their two children, Hollis and West Keenan.
Services will be held at H D Oliver Funeral Apartments in Virginia Beach on October 25th with a visitation at 4 and service at 5. There will be a paddle out service on Saturday, October 26 at noon at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier on 14th street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Surfrider Foundation in Jeff's name.
