James Walter Booth, Jr. Obituary

James Walter Booth Jr., born July 1, 1938, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at Cumberland Healthcare Center in Cumberland, Md.

James is preceded in death by both parents, Mary Catherine (Gracie) and James Walter Booth Sr. He is also preceded in death by brother, Wilson Booth and wife Josephine; brother, Johnny Booth all of Eckhart, Md.; one daughter, Tammy Curran of Ohio.

James is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy Booth; three children, James, Kenneth and Rosemary Booth; his brother, Bernard Booth; also too many grandchildren, nieces and nephews to name.

He had a love for family, nature and all animals. He always made sure to tell you that he loved you. He would let you know that if you came home and he was in your house the only thing that may be missing is the jar of peanut butter. That was his favorite to go for food. Jim went by different names, including Hezzy and Sach. James served in the Navy for a few years. Anyone that knew James would know that he was a lot like his dad in the sense that neither ever met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.

A committal will be held in the chapel of the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Military honors will be accorded by Ft. Cumberland Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.

The Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, assisted the family with arrangements.
