Ihor Bekersky (83) passed away on Oct 14, 2024, at Karen Acres Healthcare Center, in Urbandale, Iowa. Interment will be held at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen, NY, at a later date.
Ihor Bekersky was born to Ivan “John” and Oksana (Stets) Bekersky in October, 1940, in Lviv, Ukraine. He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1949. He proudly served his country in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1974. He completed his education with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from NYU and worked for many years in the fields of pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology.
Ihor is preceded in death by his parents, John and Oksana Bekersky; and his nephew, United States Army Medic Sgt. Jonathan Cadavero.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Kim Bekersky; children, Stephen Bekersky, Katharine Luongo, Peter Bekersky, and Bonnie Bieber; sisters Nadia Cadavero and Daria Bekersky; niece Kristia Markarian; and grandson Benjamin Bieber.
