Jean King, 98, of Pleasant Hill and formerly of Boone, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill. Following Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A graveside inurnment service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Jean was born June 17, 1926, in Boone, the daughter of Claude A. and Estella (Shafer) Wiley. In 1944, she graduated from Boone High School.

During her life, Jean was employed by Western Union, Nelson’s Lumber, KWBG Radio and Duncan Heating and plumbing.

Jean was united in marriage to Marvin E. Crouch, in 1947, to this union two daughters, Rickey and Jane, and a son Marvin G. “Skip” were born. She married Roland L. Jesse in 1967, who had three children. In 2004, Jean married Marshall P. King, who had five children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; son, Skip Crouch; sister, Alice Gerth; brother, Bill Wiley; and son-in-law, Ron Hagge.

Jean is survived by her two daughters, Rickey (Ralph) Ryan of Carlisle and Jane Hagge of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, Chad Webb, Carme (Brad) Peterson and Joel Hagge; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Claire Peterson; and a great-great-grandson, Vinny.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone.
