Charles Earl Jones, 84, of New Richmond, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, under hospice care. He was born on July 23, 1940, to the late Joel Albert and Anna Mae (nee Scherrer) Jones in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Lynn (nee Cochran) Jones, and sisters Joyce Miller and Donna Flinchpaugh.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ida Kay (nee Fell) Jones, daughter, Jill (nee Cochran) Jones, grandchildren, Matthew David (Annette Alanis) Cochran, Sarah Elizabeth Cochran, Zachary John (Errka Leigh) Jones, Cheyenne Rose (Nelson) Minter, Chandler Logan (Emma) Cochran, and brothers, Ronald Jones, and Robert Jones.

Charles served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. Following his honorable discharge, he began working at Queen City Metro and drove a city bus for 32 years. His strong sense of service continued throughout his life. Charles followed his passion for helping others and became an ordained lay minister. His dedication to his faith was one of his defining characteristics, and he found great joy in uplifting others. In his free time, Charles loved spending time with his family, playing chess and camping with his family. His fondness for cookies was legendary!

Charles was a man of deep faith, unwavering dedication, and a heart full of love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
