Wanda M. Weatherford, 87, of Petersburg, died on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.

She was born on February 11, 1937, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Lyle and Ann (Cooper) Corrington. Wanda married Reign E. Weatherford on October 3, 1971, in Decatur. He preceded her in death.

Wanda graduated from Decatur High School. She went on to work as an account tech for the State of Illinois for 40 years, from which she retired. Wanda’s faith was strong and she attended numerous churches. She loved animals and had many dogs throughout her life. Wanda was passionate about arts and crafts, and enjoyed sewing when she was younger. She delighted in trips to both Chick-fil-A and the mall.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Barbara Hamilton.

Wanda is survived by her nieces, Diana Hurt and Michelle Hurt, both of Springfield; and sister, Sandra Hurt of Springfield.

Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
