Robert “Bob” Michalski, of Downers Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the age of 81. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Irene and Edwin Michalski, Bob was the oldest of three children. Bob graduated from Loyola University and was drafted into the United States Army shortly thereafter. After serving with for two years in Europe, Bob returned home and began his career as a computer programmer with Illinois Bell. It was at work in 1969 that Bob met his future love and wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Shea. The two wed on January 30, 1971 and begin their lives together in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. They started their family and eventually moved to Western Springs as the family grew, ultimately retiring to Downers Grove. Retirement allowed Bob to spend time cheering on the Bears and the Cubs. However, his absolute favorite pastime was supporting the teams of his grandchildren. Adoring Husband of Kathy Michalski. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Mass to be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:00AM at St. Mary of Gostyn Church, 445 Prairie Avenue, Downers Grove, Illinois 60515.
