He served in a number of different roles as an officer in Clark County, to include New Washington High School SRO, Sergeant Detective, Lieutenant, Lieutenant Colonel, and Assistant to the Chief of Police.
He was a loyal fan of Indiana University basketball, the Cincinnati Reds, and a devoted Colts and NFL fan. Johnny eagerly anticipated each new NFL season, and his golf and fishing trips with his friends who he dearly loved.
Most importantly he cherished his family and leaves behind two children, John Shelton and Jennifer Roberts (Chris); and two grandchildren, Josh and Addison. Johnny Mike is also survived by his loving sisters, Anne Ross, Christy Beeler (Victor), Sonnie Hedge (Bill), and numerous nieces and nephews.
