Betty Allen Harrell spent the first part of her life in Georgia and Florida and then finally made it to Texas. She was from a family of 12 children and later became the mother to two sons, Clayton and Cole. She was blessed to have three grandchildren, Shani, Angie, and Ryan and five great grandchildren.

 She will be remembered as a kind and generous woman. From 1976 to 1978, she had the honor of serving her community as the first lady mayor of Blue Mound, Texas. She became friends with several top Texas politicians and was able to get a sign installed on the freeway indicating where Blue Mound was located.

 As she raised her two sons, she received different forms of help along the way and always paid it forward anytime she could. She was preceded in death by her son Clayton and her husband Shelley B. Harrell.
