Thomas Amburgey, 68, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on October 13, 2024, at Norton Brownsboro in Louisville, Kentucky. Thomas was born on August 11, 1956 in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Rufus and Ella (Mullins) Amburgey. Thomas worked many years as a Laborer for several manufacturing industries. Thomas was best known for his carpentry skills in which he specialized in building decks. He spent his past time fishing and hunting. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Heather "Nikki" Amburgey-Colwell; and two sisters, Pauline Amburgey and Brenda Sue Amburgey. He is survived by his wife, Grace Amburgey; his daughter, Lisa (Billy) Pumphrey, of Austin, Indiana; four sons, Gary (Vena) Amburgey, of Scottsburg, Indiana, Thomas (Shelbie) Amburgey Jr., of Lexington, Indiana, Brady (Destiny) Amburgey, of Scottsburg, Indiana, Scott (Billie) Amburgey, of Hayden, Indiana; two brothers, Darrell (Sudie) Amburgey, of Lexington, Indiana, and Kermit "Jr." Amburgey, of Austin, Indiana; a sister, Teresa (Raymond) Callahan; thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
