He studied for two years before enlisting in the Army. He served for 4 years while stationed in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Soon after, he met the love of his life Teresa Contillo; they married and had two sons Michael and Neal.
Thomas loved to pile his two sons and their cousins into the back of his old suburban and go on adventures such as traveling throughout South and Central America. Tom worked as National Service Manager at Heidelberg repairing large printing presses throughout The United States including the World Trade Center.
Tom and Teresa later moved to Kennesaw, Georgia. He loved gardening, especially letting his grandchildren eat a fresh crop of sugar snap peas off the vine. He loved to tell stories about his Army days in the desert of Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Tom was active with St. Vincent de Paul Society, delivering food to needy families in St. Catherine of Sienna Parish. His biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and watching Notre Dame Football. Tom took great care of Teresa when her health was failing.
