Talmage Leon Claytor, Jr. Obituary

On 13 October 2024 Talmage Leon Claytor, Jr (T.L) went to be with the Lord in eternal glory. A father, husband, son, brother, friend, the world is a lot emptier without him around. The pain and loss we all feel will slowly subside, filling with fond memories, stories and probably some shenanigans.

If you knew him, you know T.L. would strike up a friendly conversation with about anyone with breath in their lungs. He made many friends this way, some he's leaving behind and some who are rejoicing seeing him again. But he has many loved one's with him who will be more than happy to hear his enthusiasm once again.

And I know he's got a big grin on his face about reuniting with Mom and probably telling everyone in earshot about the joy of being with her again.

Also rejoicing in his enthusiasm are his father Talmage (Paw-Paw), his little sister Pam and her husband Harold, his niece Jill, and many other loved relatives. Also rejoicing are two of his best friends John and Mike, who will undoubtedly be ready for some shenanigans.

T.L. is survived by his mother Marguerite (Nana), his son Dennis, his big sister Barbara and her husband Jack, his sister-in-law Sherry and her husband Wilford and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Although he's not with us physically, he'll always be in our hearts, minds and spirits. And we take comfort knowing he's been reunited with so many he loved and telling them all about us. He will take comfort knowing the lives of family and friends he's left behind have been enrichened by his love and we will take that with us until we meet him again in Our Father's heavenly abode.

Join us in a celebration of T.L.'s life. A gathering of friends and family will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, October 21, at Bliley’s, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, VA 23228. Attire is casual and bring all the stories you remember to share, clean or not. A graveside service will take place 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3806 Forge Road, Glasgow, VA, 24555. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Richmond SPCA.
