Lynda Terry (Ramsay) Clarke

(October 26, 1966 - October 14, 2024)

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Lynda T. Clarke announce her passing. Lynda passed at her home in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She was born in Bergen County, New Jersey, to Richard G. Ramsay and Virginia M. Ramsay of Tappan, New York. She was a 1984 graduate of Tappan Zee High School. Lynda was a lifelong resident of Rockland County, NY until moving to Hendersonville, NC with her husband John in 2017.

Lynda is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, John J. Clarke, son Devlin Michael (Rebecca Hamburg), Clarke, of Tarrytown, NY, father Judge Richard G. Ramsay, of Piermont, NY and Estero, FL, her sister Ellen Ramsay, of Pisgah Forest, NC, Ellen’s daughter, Dr. Virginia Logue. Also, her brother Richard (Debra) Ramsay, Jr., of Stony Point, NY, and their children Christopher Ramsay, Jessica-Lee Ruggiero, and Gabriella Pravata. Lynda was predeceased by her mother, Virginia Ramsay, and brother, Kevin Ramsay.

Lynda was an insurance agent with Sutherland Insurance Company of Hendersonville, NC and prior to moving to North Carolina, she was an agent for many years with Coyle Insurance Agency of Congers, NY.

She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend. Lynda always had the home that her son’s friends would flock to on Friday and Saturday nights. All were always welcomed by Lynda’s warmth and acceptance. They will always remember “Mrs. Clarke’s triple play” of nachos, pizza bagels, and homemade chocolate chip cookies, which she made for them all the time. She loved making her house a home for her family, decorating for the holidays, dogs, the Brevard White Squirrels of NC, nature, hiking with their dog Lola, gardening, cooking with John, collecting art, and antiquing. She was well known by all she met for her quick wit and humor and will be missed by all the many whose lives she touched.

The family welcomes donations to Amazing Grace Ministries, 814 A Kanuga Road, Hendersonville, NC 28739, as an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers.  Shuler Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
