Sylvia Ann (Brown) Martin, 83 – went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Sylvia was born in Asheboro, North Carolina, August 2, 1941, to the late Forest Garland Brown and Mary Edith Brown (Booth), and was a resident of Jacksonville, FL, since 1953.

Sylvia was a former member of Old Kings Road Baptist Church and a current member of Southpoint Baptist Church, both in Jacksonville, FL. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who gave love and was loved by her large family. Sylvia was an avid Florida Gators fan as well as the Jaguars, she enjoyed large family gatherings, crocheting, bowling and church life with dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Amiel Martin, sister Juanita White, sister Edith Waller, brother David Brown, brother Vernon Brown, and daughter Sylvia Kay Cooley.

Sylvia is survived by her sister Ruth Ann Munson (Eddie) of Alvin, TX, children Robert “Bobby” Lowman (Brenda) of Jacksonville; Regina Diestel (Johnny) of Brunswick, GA; Christopher Lowman of California, and sister-in-law Sandi Brown of Jacksonville. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Caticia, Nathan, Savannah, James, Alec, many great grandchildren, 4 bonus grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held in the chapel at Ferreria Funeral Services at Beaches Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 22, 2024; viewing at 10:00 am and services at 11:00 am.
