Janice Irene (Kilbride) Mosher, age 82, of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, October 14, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Blewitt) Kilbride. She attended Most Blessed Sacrament grade school and West Catholic Girls high school. She went on to become a Radiology Technician in Philadelphia, and later at the Medical Center of Delaware (now Christiana Care). Jan received her MBA from Widener and assumed the role of Radiology Manager until her retirement.
Jan enjoyed reading, line dancing, traveling our beautiful country and the world, dressing up in costumes, going on crazy adventures, and spending time at the beach in Pot Nets, her “happy place”. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Flyers, the latter of which she held season tickets for many years. Above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. It is truly impossible to capture the essence of her incredible personality into words. She always had a smile on her face, her warmth and joy were infectious, and she had an unconditional love for everyone she met which made everyone feel like family. All who knew her loved her, and although she only had one daughter, everyone affectionately called her “mom” or “mom-mom.”
Jan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter “Lee” Mosher, who was the love of her life; and her best friend, Dee Massey.
She is survived by her daughter, Krista Henshaw (James); her grandsons, Christopher and David Brazell; her sister, Jean Ambs (Bob, deceased); and her nieces and nephews: Bob Ambs (MaryAnn), Jim Ambs (Chrissy), Maureen Ambs, Michael Ambs (Michelle), Patti Spadaro (John), Kathy Eads (Adam), Rob Hefterich (Mari), Leanne Hefterich-Thompson (Bob, deceased); and she was very happy to welcome Leanne’s significant other Mike Straiton into the family. She is also survived by her “2nd daughters” – Krista’s best friends of 30+ years - Melissa Schulte (Craig) and Paula Scholes; as well as many, many grand nieces and nephews; cousins; and a huge network of friends. She will always be remembered and deeply missed by all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:30am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jan’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association (AHA) or directly to Krista’s AHA Heart Walk team (that Jan walked in every year) at https://myhrt.org/2xxlu
For those who are unable to attend the services in Wilmington, there will be a celebration of life luncheon held in Southern Delaware at the AmVets Post 2 on Long Neck Road, on Saturday Nov 16, 2024 12:00-3:00pm.
