A life filled with music, laughter, and boundless love James Frederick Pomeranz, lovingly known as "Jim Bob" to his friends and family, passed unexpectedly on the morning of September 29th, 2024. He was born on April 4th, 1960 to his parents Marvin and Kay Pomeranz in Denver, Colorado. Jim Bob's journey through life was filled with kindness, music, and an unwavering love for those around him.
From a young age, Jim Bob was enthralled with music—a love that shaped his life. He became a true pillar in the world of music, playing guitar in several bands that allowed him to tour across the U.S., sharing his talent and love for sound wherever he went. For a time, he was also part owner of a chain of popular music stores, Angelo’s CD’s & More, further deepening his connection to the art he loved so dearly.
But above all, his greatest love was for his family. He was a devoted father to his four children: Justin, Chelsea, Gianna, and Teya. He cherished every moment with them, always the self-proclaimed "big kid" who ensured they grew up surrounded by fun, creativity, and adventure. His playful spirit lives on in his children’s lives, reflected in everything they do. He was also a loving grandfather to Ava and Zoe Pomeranz and a caring brother to his sister Linda Pomeranz, who will all carry on his memory and love.
Jim Bob had a unique gift for storytelling and could light up any room with his humor and endless stories. He had an infectious laugh and a way of making everyone around him feel comfortable and at home. His presence was a constant source of joy, and there was never a shortage of laughter when he was around.
As a passionate outdoorsman, Jim Bob found peace and happiness in the wilderness, especially during hikes, camping trips, and his adventures in the Utah desert. Whether it was music or nature, he shared everything he loved with those he cared about most.
James Pomeranz was more than just a musician, father, and friend—he was a force of love and kindness in the world, a true "hippy dad" who believed deeply in spreading peace. His love was so magical and powerful that it felt like it could create world peace itself. He was woven into the very fabric of his children’s lives, and his presence will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Jim Bob is survived by his children, Justin, Chelsea, Gianna, and Teya; his grandchildren, Ava and Zoe; his sister Linda; and countless others who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in every note of music, every walk in nature, and every smile shared among those he touched.
Rest in peace, Jim Bob. You are the sunshine of our lives, and we are forever proud to be your family. We love you.
