Edward J. Kline, known to friends and family as “Fast Eddie,” passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, surrounded by the love of his life, Nancy, and their devoted family. For five decades, Eddie and Nancy shared their lives on their beloved farm in Hartly, Delaware.
Eddie was born on April 24, 1951, to Ed and Pauline Kline. He embraced the farmer’s life with passion, tending to crops alongside Nancy and nurturing the land they both loved. But Eddie’s talents extended beyond the fields—he spent 35 years as a skilled pipe fitter with Local 42, contributing to essential infrastructure projects.
Eddie’s tractor became his canvas after retirement, where he tinkered, spun tall tales, and brought laughter to those around him. His kindness knew no bounds, as he selflessly helped those in need.
He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Lois Powell; and brothers, Billy and Kurt Kline.
Eddie’s legacy lives on through his loved ones, his loving wife, Nancy Kline; stepdaughter, Susan Powell; grandchildren, Amber Goldsborough, Eric Powell (Bianca), Amanda Powell (Steven); seven great-grandchildren, Paislee, Payson, Jordan, Phoenix, Preslee, Palmer and Jaxon; his parents, Ed and Pauline Kline; brothers, John Kline(Roni), Thomas Kline, (Helen) Frank (Kathy) Kline; sisters, Karen (Carl) Kline, Linda (John) Forgine; sisters-in-law, Esther Gorman (David), Ann Jones (Dan); several nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Milton Karbaum.
Eddie’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of family and friends.
