David McNeil, 73, of North Brunswick, New Jersey, passed away on October 14th, 2024 at Green Knoll Care Center in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
David was born in Manhattan, New York in 1951 to Walter McNeill and Virginia (Sautebin) McNeil.
David attended St Columba Catholic School in the city of Manhattan, graduating in 1966. David enrolled in Aviation High School, and enjoyed his time working on airplane engines. He graduated in 1970 and continued his education at the New York School of Gambling to pursue his passion. Upon graduation in 1980, David moved to Atlantic City to become a professional games dealer in Atlantic City where he met his second wife Patricia, the Mother of his children. The majority of his professional career was spent with ABF trucking, returning him to NYC. David would follow his father’s footsteps and become a lifelong member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 707 and the International Longshoreman's Association Local 1730.
David retired in 2002 from trucking in NYC, ultimately settling in North Brunswick, New Jersey to be close to his children. David would continue on to the next chapter of his life; enjoying his retirement and working as a First Student bus driver. David loved his career as a bus driver; being able to start the children’s days off with a smile and a joke, and deliver them home safely at the end of the day.
In his free time, David would enjoy monthly trips to Atlantic City where he would play his favorite table games: craps, roulette and most of all poker. He was an avid New York sports fan, watching the Giants and Yankees play whenever he could. David was a true blue New Yorker at heart.
Most of all, nothing was more important to David than spending time with his three daughters. They were truly his world.
David McNeil is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers; Walter and Alley McNeil and is survived by his three sisters; Catherine Dunn, Carol DeMorris, and Annie McGirr.
David is survived by Patricia Kaplan and their three daughters; Frances McNeil, Chelsea Kechely and husband Evan, and Margaret Fatula. He is also survived by his three loving grandchildren; Morrigan, Lorelai and Delilah. We know David is in heaven because he did his penance here on Earth. May God have Mercy on your Soul.
