Gertrude I. (O’Shea) Trottier, 100.5, of Bradford passed away October 14, 2024.
She was born April 12, 1924 in East Boston, the daughter of John F. O’Shea and Gladys (Kiley) O’Shea.
She was educated in various schools in the Boston area, graduating from St. Gregory’s High School in Dorchester. She moved to Bradford following her marriage of 56 years to her beloved husband L. Norman Trottier, who passed away in 2002.
She was employed at the former Lucent Technologies in North Andover for 27 years reaching the position of supervisor. Upon her retirement she sold real estate for a few years. She wintered in Seminole, FL where she enjoyed golf, cards, knitting, reading and nice sunny winters with many friends. Her love of travel took her to many places such as Ireland, Russia, Monaco, Jerusalem, Turkey and nearly every US state. She moved back to Bradford in 2014 to be closer to family. There she continued to play golf at Garrison Golf Center where she had many friends.
She leaves behind her three children, Marcia Romatelli, Denise Joslin and her forever companion Arbie Taylor of Bradford, Dana J. Trottier of Chicago, IL, her grandchildren Seth Romatelli of Los Angeles, CA, Eric Trottier and his wife Erin, her great grandchildren London and Emma of Marshfield, MA, and sister Katherine Collins of Brewster, MA.
She was predeceased by her sister Gladys Day of Arlington, MA and her brother John F. O’Shea, Jr. of Lexington, MA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Saturday October 19th from 12:30-1:30 PM in the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main Street, Bradford, MA. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in the Sacred Heart Church, 165 South Main St., Bradford, MA. Interment will be at the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford, MA.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Dana Farber Institute.
