Jerry Ray Gullett Obituary

Jerry Ray Gullett, from Grove, OK died on Monday, October 14th at 1:12 pm. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Martha Gullett; son, Jeffrey Gullett and his wife Vanessa and their two children, Kay’den and Chloe Gullett; daughter Joni Craig and her husband Gabe Craig, Joni’s two children Elizabeth and Blake Cox and Joni and Gabe’s son, Cason Craig; Jerry’s sisters Janie York and Judy Johnson. Jerry was born on May 31, 1949, in Vinita to John Clinton Gullett and Helen Louise (Smith) Gullett. He was a 1967 graduate of Vinita High School, and received his bachelors in business from NSU Tahlequah.

If you could use a description for Jerry, it would be a great man. Jerry had a passionate work ethic that was unstoppable, he grew a State Farm Insurance business in Miami, OK with his wife that they managed for almost 40 years. Taking care of people was not a job to Jerry, but it was a core value. For those that knew him he would do anything. This man was a leader, teacher, fixer, and friend.

Above all other things he was a family man and absolutely adored his family. He made those Grandkids feel so special and always made them laugh.

He never met a stranger. He would wave to everyone just in case he knew them. He went out of his way to make them feel special, for no other reason except he truly wanted to make them feel special.

He loved his golf and his friends, but I think more than anything he loved telling stories, and I am pretty sure those tales grew each time he told them.

He could hold court, and all would listen because in this world this man was our King!

He made many friends in this world, but in the end his best friend was Jesus!

A special invitation from the family: We would love to invite you to a reception honoring Jerry Gullett at COS, 1600 Har-Ber Road, Grove, OK on Friday Oct. 18th from 3-6pm
