Marian E. Conrad, 89, died on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster, PA.

She was the wife of William L. Conrad, of Myerstown, PA. They would have been married 69 years in November and lived in Newmanstown for most of their married life.

Marian was born May 26, 1935, to Walter and Mary (Sonnen) Wolf in Newmanstown, PA. She graduated from Newmanstown High School in 1953 and attended secretarial school. She worked for the Valley Forge Flag factory in Womelsdorf, PA for over 25 years until she retired in 2000.

Marian loved history and enjoyed traveling with her family to historic sites such as Jamestown and Williamsburg. She was also an avid reader, antique collector and BINGO player. For many years she enjoyed spending summers at the Cocalico Creek and Eagle’s Peak campgrounds with her husband and youngest child, Christine.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Col. James L. Conrad (USAF, Ret.) of Helotes, TX, daughters Cathleen, wife of Edwin Lawless, of Vienna, VA and Christine Sims, companion of John Houk, of Mechanicsburg, PA; grandchildren James L. Conrad, Jr., Kathryn E. Conrad, Matthew E. Lawless, Peter A. Lawless, Jonathan E. Sims and Margaret G. Sims; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Amelia Sue Lawless.  She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Susan Conrad.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a viewing beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Millbach Cemetery, Newmanstown.
