A Funeral Mass for Richard Albert Russo will be held on Friday October 18, 2024, at 12 Noon in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church in Waltham.

Rick or “Papa” as he was known, passed away on October 14, 2024.  He was 86.

He was the beloved husband of Frances G. (Merlino) Russo. Loving father of Kathy Peters and her husband Jim of Tewksbury, Karen Mathis and her husband Ron of Belmont, and Kim Rooney and her husband Kevin of Watertown. Loving grandfather of Marie Mathis, Julie Griswold & her husband Eric, Kevin Rooney, Jimmy Peters, and Kyle Rooney & his wife Abbie. Doting great-grandfather of Lincoln & Iris. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Rick was a US Army Veteran, Vietnam. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 17 at MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main Street, Watertown, from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish, 920 Trapelo Road Waltham on Friday October 18 at 12 Noon. Interment Highland Meadow Cemetery, Belmont.
