Patrick Leo Bourque, age 88, of Halifax died on October 14th, 2024 in the Halifax Hospice. Born in River Bourgeois, he was the son of the late Amable and Ida Mae (Landry) Bourque.

Pat graduated from St. FX in 1957 and TUNS in 1960 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked in the Mechanical Contracting Industry for over 37 years.

With a quick wit, Pat tackled everything like a mathematical equation. Simply put, he enjoyed life. His free time was spent skiing, golfing, partridge hunting and helping to renovate the homes of his children and grandchildren. Pat's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially at the cottage in River Bourgeois.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dianne (Dewar); children, Jeffrey (Brenda) Bourque, Jennifer (Les) Falconer, Suzanne (Angelo) Visentin, Patrick Bourque (Bernardino Sanga); grandchildren, Nicholas (Natasha) McQuade, Alexandra (Daryl) Dillman, Marco (Kalie) Visentin, Lisa Visentin (Sean Mullen), Danielle Visentin (Max Yancho) Christina Visentin (Tim Power); great granddaughters Molly and Penelope McQuade, Payton and Maggie Dillman, Ella and Violet Visentin, Emilia Mullen; sisters Monica McPhee and Angeline Digout; several nieces and nephews , all of whom are special. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Tony, Wilfred, Abraham, Louis, Vincent, Peter, Gilbert, Cleophus; sisters, Ellen, Lorraine, Mary Ann.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 22nd at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, River Bourgeois, with a reception at the Tara Lynn Community Hall following the burial.

Although a terminal diagnosis was devastating, the care Pat received from the Palliative Care team and Halifax Hospice Community was unforgettable. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pat may be made to Halifax Hospice.
