Melba Gilliam Patrick, 64 of Scottsville, KY passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at her residence. The Scottsville, KY native was Allen County Treasurer for over 25 years, a 1978 graduate of ACSHS, former employee of the Allen County News and member of Maple Grove General Baptist Church. Melba has exemplified her faith during the last three years with enduring the loss of David, Braxton and Arnold as well as dealing with her own health issues. She was a daughter of the late William Alburn Gilliam and Mary Marie West Gilliam and wife of the late Onie Arnold Patrick.
She is survived by the grandchildren she loved and raised: Zach Richards (Joshua), Scottsville, KY; Courtney Patrick (Rachel) and Khloe Patrick, all of Auburn, KY and Jordan Talbott (Shelby), Scottsville, KY;
2 brothers: Bro. Lawrence Gilliam (Jodi) and Willard Gilliam (Michelle), all of Scottsville, KY;
2 sisters: Marjorie Mosley, Conyers, GA and Donna Williams, (Greg), Scottsville, KY;
3 great grandchildren: Makenna, Ada-Kate and Baylor Talbott;
A sister-in-law: Bonnie Ray, Scottsville, KY;
2 brothers-in-law: Bro. Danny Patrick (Kim) and James Hillous Patrick (Linda), all of Scottsville, KY; and
A host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son: David Patrick and a grandson: Braxton Patrick.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Patrick, Bro. Johnathan Marsh and Bro. Lawrence Gilliam officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
