Michael L. Higgins, 66, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 10:44 AM, Monday, October 14, 2024, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.

Friends and Family are invited to Michael's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Michael was born December 11, 1957, in Hannibal, MO to Robert Scott Higgins and Anna Mae Dark Higgins.

Survivors include his fiancé, Sara Lenane of Hannibal, MO; two brothers, Larry Higgins of Hannibal, MO, and David Higgins (Heather) of Hannibal, MO; two sisters, Roberta Hufford of Hannibal, MO, and Barbara Mills of Iowa; three nieces; and a close friend, Kelly Epperson.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Bobby Hufford.

Michael restored furniture and was a carpenter where his talents were showcased at Swagman Antiques for many years.

A gifted artist, Michael loved to draw and sketch, creating artwork that was admired by family and friends. His love for art was matched by his excitement for creating diamond art. A devoted Kansas City Chiefs football fan, Michael rarely missed watching a game and cheering on his favorite player, Patrick Mahomes. A wonderful chef, Michael was well known for his delicious smoked BBQ and pulled pork. The riverfront in downtown Hannibal was one of Michael's favorite places to visit and admire. Most of all, Michael treasured the times spent with his loved ones and will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to James O'Donnell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
