Amy “Nikki” Howard, 41, of Sumrall, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Forrest General Hospital. Visitation will be Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 3 – 5 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg with services immediately following at 5 p.m.

Nikki was a compassionate and dedicated CNA in Home Health Care and Hospice for over 21 years and was currently employed with Legacy Hospice. Her unwavering dedication to helping others in need extended beyond her work in healthcare, as she made the noble decision to become an organ donor. Even in death, her legacy of compassion lives on, as she has been able bless numerous lives even in her absence. She was adventurous, loved traveling, and going to concerts. However, among all of her contributions and achievements, Nikki treasured her family above all else. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Homer and Dora Williams; her uncle, Roy Anthony DeRoche; and one cousin, Troy Anthony DeRoche.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Damon Howard; six children, Rustin Howard, Austin Howard (Kayla), Taytum Howard, Zach Howard (Hana), Ashlynn Howard (Tyler), and Alexis Howard; six grandchildren, Kash, Preslee, Gracelynn, Isabella, Brayleigh, and Jansen; her father, Harry DeRoche; her mother and step-father, Diane and Kenny Lott; and her good friends who she considered her sisters, Emily Wheat, Regina Moore, Sesalie Cooley, Bertha Skinner, and Tara Parrish.
