Ellen Alberta (DeWitt) Malone, 85, of Bellevue, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, October 14, 2024 at Bellevue Care Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born September 20, 1939 in Friendsville, Maryland to Foster and Carrie (Butler) (DeWitt) Howell. She had a passion for taking care of others and worked as a caregiver for many people throughout the years, which lead to many lifelong friendships. She had a green thumb and used it to beautify her many flower pots in the spring. She loved doing word searches and crossword puzzles. She also liked to scrapbook and attend flea markets in her spare time. You could always find her in front of the television when Wheel of Fortune (“Spin the Wheel!”), Jeopardy, and The Price is Right was on. Most of all, she loved time spent with her family, who she adored.
Ellen is survived by her children, Judy E., husband, Rob, (Bolyard) Cordle, of Wakeman, OH, Rickey E., wife, Debra, Bolyard, of Galloway, OH, and Tina A. Bolyard, of Bellevue, OH; grandchildren, Robert (Ashley) Bean, Sierra (Gerald) Broeckel, Rebecka (Jason) Todd, Jeremie (Alicia) Bolyard, Zachary (Emily) Bolyard, and Bradley Bolyard; seven great-grandchildren; twin brother, Orval (Betty); brother, Raymond DeWitt; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Malone; and sister, Edna (Ruth) Bolyard.
A private visitation and committal service will take place. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. Condolences may be shared online at toftfuneralhome.com.
