George Allen Menning, age 70, of New Castle, PA, passed away, the afternoon of Oct. 14, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends, at St. Elizabeth’s Mercy Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.
Born Sept. 16, 1954, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late George and Elaine (Clendenning) Menning.
On June 25, 1999, he married his beloved wife of 25 years, Kim (Sizer) Menning. She survives at home.
George was a graduate of Vo-Tech. After graduation he attended Slippery Rock University. For several years he worked as a grinder, employed by Ellwood Crank Shaft and Machine. George loved fantasy football, going to casinos, scratch off tickets and Ohio State Football. He belonged to the KP club. George will be remembered as a ‘one of a kind’ guy that always made his friends and family feel loved. He treasured the times that he was able to spend with them, talking and hanging out.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one brother, Jack Menning of New Castle, PA; four sisters, Deborah (Charles) Gordon of Tampa, FL, Elaine Menning and Susan Menning, both of Sun City, FL, Kimberly Menning of Apollo Beach, FL; and his faithful dog, “Spirit”.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Lease on Life Animal Shelter, 2773 E. Midlothian Blvd., Struthers, OH, 44471, in honor of his faithful companion, “Spirit”.
