Frances Marie Reiss Tully
Given by God 8.2.1929 ~ Given Back to God 10.14.2024 - aged 95
Born in Ozone Park to John and Margaret Moore Reiss, she was pre-deceased by her tenderly loved sisters Theresa Reiss McCann (Anthony) and Patricia Reiss Locicero (Andrew). She married Gerard P Tully in 1949 and subsequently moved to Sands Point where she lived for the next 70 years. Her extensive family of over 40 nieces and nephews loved their Aunt Fran. Family gatherings were legendary among her clan where despite knowing the words to many popular songs of the day her ability to render a tune on-key was a challenge.
Her family centered life was her life's work and focus as parents to Kathleen M Tully, Karen Tully Duffy (Patrick), Maureen Tully, Gerard Tully, Jr. (Marybeth), Susan Tully Scott (Stephen), Anne Tully Knehr (David), Mary Tully Seligmann (Dan). The joys of her life – her 17 grandchildren – Erin Scott Chudd (Gary), Michael (Trish) Scott, Daniel Scott, Andrew (Marguerite), John (Jooyeon), Paul (Alanna), Kristin Tully, Gerard Tully (Erin Kollar), Brendan Tully, Claire Tully, Deirdre Duffy Burke (Ryan), Grace Duffy McBrien (Gavin), Reiss Knehr, Liam Knehr, William Seligmann, Olivia Seligmann, Eric Seligmann, are in addition to her 10 great grandchildren.
Viewing services will be at Fairchild and Sons, 1570 Northern Blvd, Manhasset, NY 11030 on Friday October 18, 2024 from 3-5 PM and again from 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Peter’s of Alcantara church 1321 Port Washington Blvd, Port Washington NY 11050 at 9:30 AM on Saturday October 19th . Burial to follow. Luncheon at Manhasset Bay Yacht club to follow.
